I think it's because Interactive C does not support the use of 2-dimensional
arrays, as already stated in the manual.

The funny thing is, it doesn't complain about arrays smaller than 4x4. All
values are stored correctly for an array of size 3x3.

What's this 'magic' number 4 then?
