Hi all,
Just another (hopefully unanswered) question about the DC adapter:
Do the specifications stated in the FAQ (18 volts unconnected) also
apply to _regulated_ adapters, or only to unregulated?
I'm asking this because I just bought a new assembled Handy Board, an
when I plug in my DC adapter (regulated; set to 12v, 595mA; measured
~12v unconnected) into the serial interface and connect the interface to
the HB, the "charge" led simply won't go on, as long as the HB turned
"off"! Anyone out there know why?
My second question is, can I use other than the suggested batteries
(500mAh, mignon) to power the HB and its connected motors (for example,
750 or 1000mAh)? My HB always resets when the 2(!) LEGO-motors have to
do a bit harder work.
Thanks,
Jan Lellmann

| Good question. Answer: DO NOT USE REGULATED ADAPTERS WITH THE HANDY BOARD. I will add this to the FAQ, because it is not obvious, but the HB power circuitry was designed explicitly for CHEAPO UNREGULATED WALL WARTS ONLY. sorry, Fred In your message (...)
