Hi -
Has anyone ever tried using "muscle wire" (nitinol) with the
Handyboard? When you pass an electirc current through it, it heats up
and rapidly contracts.
The wire has a fairly low resistance - would it still be OK to drive
it with the motor outputs? I assume it would only need a very short
burst of current. Would using a motor output power setting < 100
help here?
I'd also like to drive a smallish electromagnet for a short time. I
have no idea how much current it draws. What's the safest way to
proceed here as well? What on the board would fry if I draw too much
current, and how can I tell what's too much?
Thanks,
Peter
