Hi this is Rick Hormigo from Southern Mississippi University, and I'm new in
this list and this is my answer for the question about ZTX614. I'm foreigner, so
I'm sorry for my English !!!

The only one very famous darlinton for medium power that I know is the BDX53.
You can do this work in the same place that the ZTX614 but there are two
problems: the BDX is twice bigger (something like the power regulator 7805) and
the pins are different. If you see it to the front and
from left to right the pins are B C E .
I don't know how many power the ZTX 614 support, but the BDX are going to
support quite more than the power supply of the HB can give.  (till 8A- 60W
!!!!)

Digikey is out of stock of the ztx614 transistor.

Can anyone tell me another supplier for this transistor?
Can I substitute a different transistor?  If so, which one(s) would work?

Thanks!
