Maybe, it'll depend on the flooring. I think re-bar in a concrete
floor might affect a compass too close to the floor.
Last night I was playing with the compass, and found that passing a
screwdriver within about 3 inches would affect the compass, and
getting to within an inch will make the readings swing to follow the
screwdriver.

In the HB schematics, the header pinout is there. The +5 and ground
are on the pins closest (under) the LCD display. See the handyboard
web page for the schematics.

The ASM file I put out there should be compiled to an ICB file, and
then some simple IC C code can be written to get the values from the
comapass. I want to put the stuff together in a package, so all
anyone who wants to use this needs to do is download it, unpackage it,
and change the .lis file, load compass.c and you are off and running.
I should have it ready by Monday.

I have also seen some .asm code and was wondering if (...) (28 years ago, 7-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
