The v2x compass sounds like a great unit for keeping a mouse centered in a
maze corridor.

Maybe, it'll depend on the flooring.  I think re-bar in a concrete
floor might affect a compass too close to the floor.

Last night I was playing with the compass, and found that passing a
screwdriver within about 3 inches would affect the compass, and
getting to within an inch will make the readings swing to follow the
screwdriver.

I am looking for some more info on the SPI header pinout, on the HB, and
how to connect the v2x to it. I have also seen some .asm code and was
wondering if there is any IC code to replace or work with it.

In the HB schematics, the header pinout is there.  The +5 and ground
are on the pins closest (under) the LCD display.  See the handyboard
web page for the schematics.

Any info regarding the v2x compass and SPI would be great.

The ASM file I put out there should be compiled to an ICB file, and
then some simple IC C code can be written to get the values from the
comapass.  I want to put the stuff together in a package, so all
anyone who wants to use this needs to do is download it, unpackage it,
and change the .lis file, load compass.c and you are off and running.

I should have it ready by Monday.
