Hi,
For any interested dual servo users the following is what I have been
able to find regarding the twitching. Wiring a 1000microf electrolytic across
the 6V within inches of each servo seems to work. However, a much more
important fix has been disconnecting the servos from the wall jack and running
them off of a 6V battery pack instead. I was using a high quality regulated DC
power supply, but nonetheless it seemed to be making trouble. Also,
disconnecting any test and measurement instruments from the HB has helped.
Unfortunately I made all of these changes in one fell swoop, so I can say
little about the efficacy of any one change alone. Right now both servos are
running off the same battery, and each has its own cap. The twitching has not
disappeared completely, however. It appears at times which I have not yet been
able to predict or correlate to anything. Sometimes the servo oscillates
quickly about +-2 degrees, other times it twitches +-5 degrees every second and
a half or so. Sometimes the twitching goes away of its own accord, some times
it is neccesary to suspend the current function and disarm and then reenable
the servos. I have been tweaking my software too, and all that I can say is
that the shorter and less complicated the routine, the beter the servos behave.
I hope this info helps. Right now the servos are behaving fairly well, but not
perfectly.
Thanks,
Dave
