YES! The handy board 1.2 got another happy user! I received the Handy Board with
an American 120/60 adapter instead of an European but except for paying a lot of
money for that item being shipped to the bin there are plenty European transform
available. I got worried when after following the connection sequence (I got me
board pre-build!) nothing really happened. Different LEDS went on or off when
switching the board on/off and the LCD display showed me blanks.
As a reader of this mailing I had forgotten that lists like this generally
contain problems and not the happy moments of building 'bots. So with the
expectation that I killed the board instantly I started reading (again!). I
discovered that the HB would go in bootstrap mode and I could download the
appropriate .S19 to it. After completing this, everything worked fine and the HB
was playing the pink panther theme within minutes!
Since i am the proud owner of a fast Compaq Notebook (pentium 133) i did not
expect to get a connection with the handy board working easily (timing). I not
only got it working, it runs completly under Windows 95 (dos box).
So, thanks DMS for responses and help during ordering.
thanks Fred for nice looking board
