Thanks, Carlos. I will buy a completed board for my project. I don't foresee building a handy board from scratch any time soon. -----Original Message----- From: Carlos Fernandez [mailto:softech@ptdprolog.net] Sent: Monday, June 28, 1999 9:18 AM To: (...) Don't feel bad. I felt the same way. My background is in PC Windows programming, and this is very very very different and frustrating to get started. If you are still interested you should consider buying a board that is already assebled. Thats how (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Call me a weenie -- I'm in over my head... anyone in the market for a handyboard? HandyBoard - (board only) Battery Charger Board (board only) Expansion Board Kit Untouched -- didn't even start the project. (25 years ago, 28-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: POLAROID 6500 INCONSISTENT

Bob, I do experience the same thing and taking the average does not work correctly. I compare the "distance" between the values (I have it get three) and throw out the one that is farthest away. Then I take the average of the remaining two. After (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: LM35 Temp Sensor

I have a couple of LM335 that I have tried to use with the miniboard. The numbers I get when converted to Fahrenheit, do not accurately represent the room temperature. The docs mention using a 10K pot to calibrate the sensor. I have not yet tried (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Baud rate of Interactive C

Hi, has anyone hacked Mac IC 3.1 to change its baud rate? I'm trying to run a radio RS232 link, and it just can't take the data at 9600 baud. Thanks, George Musser georgejr@musser.com (25 years ago, 28-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IC question

Dear Victor, I'll give you a few hints about what you are trying to do. 1. the "0x" in front of 0x0e is the same as "$" in regular C. It just designates that the number following is in hex format. 2. Fred runs his motor driver chips using addresses (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  LM35 Temp Sensor

Hi, Has someone tried to connect a LM35 temperature sensor to an analog input in the HB, I have had no luck with it, I have plugged it directly to the input and think that maybe is the 47K pull-up resistor the cause of the problem. Thank You José (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  V860X speech module

Hi All: I've been playing with an SPO256 speech chip for my robot ... and I'm not very pleased with the results. Now I'm considering moving to the V860X speech board by RC Systems.   POLAROID 6500 INCONSISTENT

Hello all, I have a Polaroid 6500 connected to the HB in the standard and well documented fashion. It is working and delivers values that approximate the correct distances. However, it is somewhat inconsistent. For example it will return a lower (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: 6500 returning dd values

I'm having the same problem with my expansion board. When I type sonar_display(); the numbers start flashing on the LCD. The numbers are changing rapidly and appear to be both negative and positive.   Re: speed control help

It sounds like you are running open loop. If you use the wheel encoders as feedback devices to close the loop, then you can use the motor control function in your program as a variable to adjust motor control current via PWM to match the command (...)
