Denn: If I am not mistaken, and please correct me if I am wrong (anybody), but I think the inductor is in the circuit to protect the NiCd battery pack and rest of circuit against possible reverse electro-mechanical induction by the DC motors. Thank you mat for your advice. But i coudn't under stand what should i do with the dial-up that is required for the hiperterminal connection. raj, I assume you could use windoze Hyper-terminal. (...) Should work fine. If you use the "Zap" charge mode, make sure the NiCad's are designed to work on fast charging. Some are, some aren't. I was wondering what are my options for the HB battery. Would it be possible for me to get 2 battery holders each carrying 4 cells each and fill them with regular NiCad cells say, The one's they have at radio shack? Would this be a viable options to (...) I think that the Robot Store ( www.RobotStore.com ) sells a variety of H-Bridges. I had no problem wiring up my own LMD18200's , however! As a matter of fact, I obtained 2 LMD's for free from the Natinal Semiconductor Website through their sample (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I have gotten some Infrared Proximity Detectors (IRPD), but no instructions for using them with the handyboard. These are set up with an infrared LED on each type of the sensor, and they are intended to give left/right/front detection. The program (...) I don't know if the code gets corrupted, but the LED's do not do what they are supposed to do in download mode once in a while. Regardless of the lighting of the LED's, I am still able to download the code into my handyboard and keep on 'botting! (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
