March's meeting is Saturday, March 30 at the Pretlow Library in Norfolk, VA
from 2 PM to 4 PM. Pretlow is just off I-64 in the Ocean View area of
Norfolk (at the intersection of Ocean View Ave. and Granby St.)
As always we'll be featuring MOCs, BYOB (Bring your own Bricks, an
opportunity for hands-on help with your project), Freestyle-play area (for
kids), and the challenge.
This is the last meeting for the "Trig Racers" challenge, where a robot must
travel a course shaped like a right-triangle with unknown leg lengths. Last
meeting we had an entry that could complete the challenge, and two that
could get part of the way.
Next month we'll be moving our meetings to the third Saturday, so we don't
conflict with our friends in Richmond. We may also be moving further East,
since that's where most of our members are. The challenge for the spring
quarter will be "Sumo", where robots will have to push their opponent out of
the tournament 'ring'. More details to come!
