perhaps some folks are confusing the Lego Dacta Mars Rover pkg:

with the Mindstorms add-on.

It was just a guess.  I can't find any information on it anywhere.

Where did you find information about the expansion set?

Maybe it will come with a Legoized solar panel for the power jack.

It looked to me like the Mars exploration set would be software
only.  It appeared to be a simulation of a remote camera on
robots moving around on Mars, with options to set the number,
type, and movement characteristics of the (virtual) robots.
That would better fit the $50 price.

Isn't one of the Mindstorms addons promising a camera (it's probably • the one
that isn't out yet)?

Rumor has it the Mars exploration set will have a camera, but there's no
confirmation as yet.

I can confirm that I made up that rumor. It might be true, and there's
certainly some supporting evidence, but for $50 I'm not too hopeful.

That was my impression. As far as I know, the Mars explorer set is planned for the Q1 1999. I could not find any information except the nice photograps in the Mindstorm box set. If any one has more information... David -----Mensaje original----- De: (...) (26 years ago, 1-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)
