I believe these are still available from Pitsco - sets like "Primary Simple Machines" #779654and "Fun Time Gears" #779652 and others; also spare parts kit "Gears for Primary Simple Machines" #N779838 -Wes (...) (25 years ago, 11-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) They are indeed. I got them for Xmas in '72 or '73, perhaps even '71. They were code colored, if I remember correctly, and came in three sizes: blue, red and yellow. Teeth were widely spaced and had a kind of 'bulbeous' shape: the tip of thr (...) (25 years ago, 11-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)
