Try a little white glue.  The glue helps prevent slippage and can be
easily removed with warm water.  Another option is a low-temperature
"hot" glue gun.  Many of the "hot" glue gun glues can be removed with
vinegar.

Use these at your own risk.

This is a neat design. Those that may have built it, does the 1/2 nut
