For those who want more info on this battery technology, here is Pure
Energy's web site
http://www.pureenergybattery.com
You can get similar information from Ra-o-vac.
I called their 800 number and had a length chat about them
The hissing that was mentioned by some one:
- this will typically happen with ruptured batteries - i.e. leaking or about
to leak - any type.
- they have found in their testing that some devices, mostly motorized toys
(but only a few) that use 6 or more batteries will work even
if one battery is installed incorrectly (reversed).
- physically damaged batteries - torn casing, or dented.
This has been an interesting debate. I never thought it would go on like
this.
