What's new in RIS 1.5 software?

I have heard that the development software that comes with RIS 1.5 has
been updated and improved but I haven't seen specifics. Can anyone share
what they know about what is new? The things I would like to know are:
1. Is the software faster? (click, wait, type, wait, drag, wait, wait)
2. Does it have less bugs? (still change the desktop to 256 colors?)
3. Does it support variables?
4. Any new commands or features?
