Thanks for the scan.

OK, so we got a slip disk (4th column, 6th item) - very nice. The RDS has
one of those, too. So does the Technic motor set.

The blue connector (5th column, 5th item) is used in other sets as a
quick-connect brick for modules. There's a Technic police buggy for example
that uses three of them. The set includes three different axle assemblies.
You can snap them onto the body to make different vehicles. I believe the
double yellow connector (3rd column, 12 rows down) works well with that. It
is also used by itself in the new Super Street Sensation car.

Still only one differential.

Any idea what the blue brick 4 rows down in the last column is for?  It
looks very strange.  The double yellow connector (3rd column, 12
rows down)
is kind of interesting as well.

(...) A-ha! I was wondering whether any set apart from the motor set would ever have one of those. (Vague thought - did someone say one of the bigger retail Technic sets has one too?) I wonder why don't they sell them in a service pack?! Hmmm... (...) (25 years ago, 19-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
