I find some of the most interesting material on the topic of robotics, as
well as Autonomous Behavior and AI, are books on genetic algorithms and
natural selection programming. Very interesting to consider, for instance,
programming a group of bots to "flock". Very basic algorithm, with very
rapid natural selection results. Those who don't "flock" properly die off
rapidly, due to a piece of the Genetic Algorithm. Amazing, I had no idea
someone had actually formulated this idea I though was original into a
complete science.
