John,
i don't know how to avoid this message, but to minimize the
inconvenience, i put a shortcut to "display" at my desktop so i can go
straight to the color settings.

| the problem with that is you have to reboot most of the time, so the solution is to get the freeware from microsoft (i think) called PowerTools 98 or actually 95, included is a piece of software called quickres that allows you to make changes to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)
