i'm new to the list and try to find out more about this great kit developed by
Lego. I also realise there's a big developer/hobby inventor community out there.
i had a look at the various websites and articles already.

is there an archive of this mailing list people can refer to?

from what i can see so far, the RIK system is pretty complete and opens up the
door to a lot of inventions. the only thing that probably can't be done right
now is reacting to sound, right?

fyi, if i decide to invest in this pastime than i probably will be programming
it from Java. The majority currently uses NQC (or VB for that matter).

legOS: What are the constraints of the existing firmware that led to the
development of legOS (i'm not a software engineer)?

cheers-thomas

(...) Yup -- it goes back to early November, when the list and the newsgroup were gatewayed together -- check out: (URL) the RCX subgroups: (4 URLs) (25 years ago, 6-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics)
