This is the leftmost pair? That's where the current gets drawn out
of the RCX. They both go the same way so you can connect the sensor
any way you want - which is why the other two are connected
as a bridge to supply power to the circuit...
Remember, the active sensors are powered to charge up the internal
circuitry, and then put in a higher impedance state to measure
current draw. It's a miracle it works at all and is as idiot proof
as it is. It's not just engineers but kids playing with this system after
all...
