One way that I have done a bumper is to hang a
3 angle beam above a touch sensor so that when it's
pushed in the other end of the longest part of the
beam pushes in the sensor. Add to this a 4# axle
at the other end of the beam, being flanked by 2
half bushings. Then get 2 pieces of corrugated
tubing and mount one on each half of the exposed
4# axle. Then get 2 suspension rods, 2 3# pins and
2 2# pins and use these to support the free ends
of the corrugated tubing.

I have photos of this - I just need to get around
to putting them up on my site.

#   I know what you mean.  I am constantly looking for a way to build a

# start staring
