On the other hand, why would the bridge need to carry balls at all? Just put the bridge on the section of track that separates the reliable modules from the unreliable modules' loop. (...) You'd need a hopper to store balls that arrive while the bridge is raised. You could probably rig a gate/door onto it that is open when the bridge is down and closed when the bridge is up. (...) I now have one high power TX brick, which works very well now that I've fitted it with a not quite central muzzle. This means that IR can still get in and out (somewhat), but it is very concentrated IR! Long range + Muzzle works accurately (...) (18 years ago, 4-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) The software I wrote is for the controlling PC. It uses SendMessage from the RCX, but the PC software is needed to interpret the messages from the RCX. The PC has to act as a base station! The PC can then generate scores etc. using a somewhat (...) (18 years ago, 4-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Why? If you need to send an IR message from the RCX, there's a command for that in NQC (SendMessage, IMS). (...) How directed is the pulse? (...) It may be obvious, but: Holding the reset pin for a few seconds simply does a brick reset. Holding the reset pin for around 15 seconds is supposed to put the brick into SAMBA mode.
