Boston Dynamics is working on an all-terrain quadruped robot for DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). It’s absolutely amazing.

How about a biped that mimics human walking, i.e. uses its own inertia to catch itself? (URL) I recommend (URL) the videos from this mirror site>. This one's simple enough it might be possible to build it in LEGO. (19 years ago, 6-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)
