According to Wikipedia, the XBC has replaced the RCX as the official controller for the BotBall competition. XBC is a bit pricey -- $320 at BotballStore.org, not including the $60 Gameboy you need in addition -- but it sounds pretty powerful, too. And apparently it’s still standard for this controller to be used robots built of LEGO.

Has anyone here checked out the XBC yet? With 4 motor outputs, 4 servo outputs, and what appears to be 16 inputs (8 digital, 8 analog), a display (the Gameboy), and built-in color vision support, it looks like you could do some pretty cool things with it. But I’d enjoy hearing feedback from people who’ve actually used it.

Thanks,
— Joe

No personal experience but I did find this XBC information on the botball site: (URL) Gus (19 years ago, 27-Oct-05, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)
