Ben,
Imagine a 1 footed gorilla...

Both arms forward in unison, rear leg back
Swing rear leg forward
Push off of rear leg to move both arms forward
Repeat

Not sure how to turn, suspect independent arm control would be required.
Shortening the stroke on one side, perhaps.

BTW: Larry Niven's Ringworld series contained a 'Puppeteer' which was:
2 headed (one for each eye)
3 legged on hooves, 2 front, 1 back (used a kick defense)
intellegent and evolved from herd animals

Is anyone working on such a design that will walk around with three
legs? I'm trying to make one just with the MindStorms peices (and some
from my good ol' Search Sub). Please send any ideas, etc to me!
