Hi Rob !
Well, there is probably a cheaper way, that would be making the
IR - communication faster through changing the program software.
But I think that it's more effective to change the IR - communication
by a RF - module or bluetooth, because then the RCX can "talk" to
the computer even if there is a greater distance or a object in between.
I also think, that you can't reach the speed of a radio communication
by changing IR.
Why I am so enthusiastic with this problem is, that it is part of
my ability - project and I think that should be worth something ;-).
