VC will run under XP.
Unfortunately XP prevents the VC install program from working.

I called the LEGO Technical Support about a month ago, and they said they
weren't going to make a patch, and that I had to return my VC set to the
shop. I am now writing a piece of software as a replacement, but it's not
even so close as good as the original software.
