I was just reading through my March, 2001 back issue of Science. In an
article entitled Reverse Engineering of Biological Complexity the authors
use Lego as an example to link modularity with robust yet fragile systems.
They use the term "Legome" to describe the complex parts and interaction of
each lego component. In fact they reference Extreme Mindstorms: An Advanced
Guide to Lego Mindstorms by our own D. Baum, M. Gasperi, R. Hempel and L. Villa.
Way to go guys, Its interesting to note that this hobby of ours would
contribute to some of the most forward thinking biology.
Regards,
JL
