Low cost VB alternatives: VB Control Creation Edition is free from the MS
site (you must join the Site Developers Network) and I believe is available
on ZD's site. I've found it does everything VB 5 does except compile
programs. I don't know if it will work with the Spirit OCX, but the price is
right.
The Learning Edition of VB 6 goes for about $90 at CompUSA and will allow a
full compile. A Working Model of VB 6 is now shipped with some books for
about $35 but like VBCCE will not allow a compile.
