Here is an LCAD drawing of a two-way power splitter that uses a single switch.

Originator's post is at:

which references a two-switch design:

There just to be a "reversing" switch. It has one output and one input. You
put a technic axle trough it to operate it, and it has 4 positions: forward,
off, reverse, off. You can rig two of these together to get the function you
are looking for. The only problem is that it's currently not available in
any set. The last set that I remember seeing it in was the Technic
Spaceshuttle. It has two of them. Until a few years ago, it was also sold
through Lego Dacta.

I've look in a few Dacta catalogs and haven't found what I was
looking for,
so I figured I'd ask the experts.

Is there a LEGO electric switch that has one input and can switch between
two outputs? Basicly I want to have a power supply come into the
switch and
be able to switch the power to one of the two outputs. Is there such a
beast? If so, would the switch work in the reverse? One output switching
between two inputs.
