I waltzed right into LearningSmith at the Stanford Shopping Center (Palo
Alto, CA) and there were dozens of copies just sitting around. Price was
$199.

Subject: another place to get Mindstorms
i was pleasantly surprised to see Mindstorms for sale in our local
(suburban Washington DC) MicroCenter store. MicroCenter is mostly a
computer and software store (compare with CompuUSA, etc.). They have a
very broad selection and are (imho) one of the better computer chain
stores in the US. Their price was the standard $199.
So this is another place to look for those of you scrambling for last
minute seasonal gifts!:
