Hello, As to my knowledge, there are two sorts of black friction pegs. Sort 1 is the oldest one. It has the usual form of a peg, but it has full-length ribbons on it: from the middle to the end, there's a ridge to cause the friction. These pegs stay (...) The safest bet is to use a transformer that comes with one of the LEGO train sets. I asked LEGO via email and they recommended using one of these. Here are the specs of of it: Input: 120VAC 60 Hz .12A Output: 12VAC 7 VA (...) (24 years ago, 27-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

eToys is going belly up sometime in the next 5 days according to my local news report - HOWEVER, they are listing 8735 motor sets (9v motor w/ large battery box, gears, wheels and misc. parts) for $19.99 - about half price. Not too bad a deal (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
