Hi Ram,
please have a look into the data sheets. Then you would say "... the GP2D02
is a very powerful sensor .... but the GP2D12 is better than the GP2D02 for
using it with the RCX. The GP2D02 needs a serial transmission protocol and
the GP2D12 has an analog output which you can read with the RCX sensor port.
Should we use a new subject for this problem or does anybody know about the
differences between the Sharp sensors and their different numbers?
GP2D02 analog output with serial protocol
gets distances between 10 and 80 cm
GP2D05 boolean output
gets only one adjusted distance (between 10 and 80 cm)
GP2D12 analog output
gets distances between 10 and 80 cm
GP2D15 boolean signal
gets only one adjusted distance (between 10 and 80 cm)
