I was granting the ability to scalp oneself, but my idea of 'scavenging'
scalps was to take them from whoever had performed the scalping, i.e.
stealing scalps from the scalper's belt as opposed to taking them from the
scalpee's head. If you program the bot to scalp only itself, then it only
gains one scalp, which could then be stolen/scavenged.  Kind of like taking
your cash out of your wallet in case of a mugger only to be pickpocketed.

I meant that the robots would be designed to scalp themselves.  At
least, that's how I'd build mine.  And (unless rules say otherwise), the
bot wouldn't have to employ a single method of collecting scalps.

I like the idea of scalp scavenging.

That assumes that it is just as easy for the bot to reach and detach its • own

increased range and mobility of the scalping apparatus would render it too
brittle or too hard to control to be able to effectively compete for more
scalps than its own. Plus, the added possibility of stealing scalps that
other bots have taken would make it even more interesting. I think it gives
the builder more paths to take than just bumping into the other bot and
would require more precision and an arm-like device.

Although RCXWars could be cool if someone figured out how to cannibalize
defeated opponents. Kill the other RCX, steal a few parts, whoever has the

steal their 'scalp', which leaves them active, but with a software flag • that
says it's been scalped. When there is only one remaining unscalped bot, • the
game is over and you count how many scalps each has taken( and kept from
being stolen). Whoever has the most trophies wins.

You seem to imply that even after a bot was scalped, it could still be
actively hunting.  That wouldn't work, because the first thing every bot
would do would be to scalp itself, to get the point, and keep every
other bot from getting that point.
