One could build something like an interface, that feeds (external) power into
the light sensor, in the way the rcx does, takes the output voltage, and then
provides the signal to the cybermaster using some sample & hold amplifier !
One other way would be building a new light sensor with external power supply...

details on how the RCXsensors are sampled. I don't think you could recreate
the RCX function because you probably don't have anyway to know when a
Cybermaster is going to sample it's input.
