I have actually built something similar, see
http://www.dsv.su.se/~jari-pyy/lego/tb2eng.htm ,
but not nearly as sleek, since I like the
idea of constructing a robot that looks like a tank. I
find there to be a problem in maintaing a low center
of gravity (for stability) and keeping the front clear
so that an IR-proximity sensor can be constructed
using the built in IR. I can't say I have totally succeded with
that in my model, but there seems to be a clearer view
than in Jonathans model.
I would like to know if anyone has succeded in implementing
any other mechanical switch based sensor other than
the bumper or the feeler, which can be placed in front of a vehicle.
Do we have any insect experts here?
