Re: My Lego Flexpicker Video on YouTube

(...) Seeing yours helped me to understand these machines a bit more too, thanks! Ugg so many cool parts, all those ball joint control arms, very nice! (...) I see these machines work very quickly indeed! (...) (16 years ago, 14-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: My Lego Flexpicker Video on YouTube

(...) I've made 3-4 different versions as well. I unfortunately don't have any photos of the most recent version. (URL) my efforts have been more focused on speed than specific assembly tasks. They are fantastic robots to work with. We used an ABB (...) (16 years ago, 14-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

My first year with my own FLL team

After helping my son’s school with their FLL team last year I got the wild idea to start my own FLL team this past year. I had no idea what I was in for but I knew that I wanted to put together a team that was dedicated to learning about FLL and (...)   Galvanic Skin Response Sensor

Over the nearly 10 years that I've had a MINDSTORMS related website I've noticed that my most popular homebrew sensor is the one for Galvanic Skin Response. This type sensor is used in lie detectors and biofeedback devices. I recently updated the (...) (16 years ago, 11-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: My Lego Flexpicker Video on YouTube

Pffff, oh man, that is so awesome. The only other flex picker I saw was in Brick Fest 2003: (URL) am very impressed with how you made this. Excellent work. This kind of job really shows how high tech Lego can be. Many thanks for the video! Eric (...) (16 years ago, 8-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Control Lab Interface response time

(...) I have a Delphi program for communicating with the old Dacta interface 70909 here: (URL) that can be used for Control Lab too? (16 years ago, 7-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Control Lab Interface response time

(...) Yes, the response time of the CLI is rather disappointing to say the least. Personally I think the CLI is best suited for controlling things like lights, and motors on someones town layout. For anything that requires precise control use an RCX (...) (16 years ago, 7-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Using generic IR ports for RCX 1.5

(...) IrDA works quite differently from what the RCX is capable of understanding normally under usual firmware. I don't think that you can change the dongle reactions, since on the physical layer it will work according to the IrDA specifications. (...) (16 years ago, 7-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Control Lab Interface response time

(...) Whoah, a full second?! That's pretty useless! :( I'm trying to find software to program the ControlLab right now, but if this is the case, I might as well abandon any plans I had on using it. Fine motor control would be completly impossible. (...) (16 years ago, 5-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Using generic IR ports for RCX 1.5

I've seen many people attempt this, but none who have succeeded. (but I won't say it's not possible) Steve (...) (16 years ago, 5-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Using generic IR ports for RCX 1.5

Hi, I can't find my lego mindstorm IR tower and I was thinking if it is possible to hack a generic IR dongle ( (URL) from a computer so that it can communicate with the RCX brick. Is that possible? How do I do this? Thanks (16 years ago, 5-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  Kalman filter with LEGO NXT

We have started playing with implementations of the Kalman filter into NXT robots. This sophisticated data manipulation method appears rather complicated, and most introductions depict an obscure data handling that normally is considered to be out (...)   BricxCC & NBC/NXC collaboration

I finally got around to uploading all the BricxCC and NBC/NXC source code to an SVN repository on the BricxCC project page on sourceforge.net. Now all my code changes are done via my local checkout from that repository and changes are checked in as (...)   Re: NQC for Linux/ASUS eeePC

(...) What I said had less to do with programming as it had to do with understanding your new Linux-based PC. Do you know how to use Linux from a command prompt? Can you open a terminal window on your eeePC and type "gcc" and see what happens? I (...) (16 years ago, 2-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: NQC for Linux/ASUS eeePC

(...) Um... I'm sorry, planes flying overhead. :) I literally am on the cusp of understanding programming; I just learned what an array was at our last rtl event. :) -Iain (16 years ago, 2-Feb-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Development status

(...) I think we need to stick with 2.16.1, I don't know whether porting brickos to elf is really worth the trouble. Newer gcc versions would be nice, indeed, and brickos also builds fine with (some of?) these, but I never actually got it to run on (...) (16 years ago, 31-Jan-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Development status

Hi all, This is great to see there's still some interest. I may not have opportunity to post over the next couple days, but I have created some patches against the latest Sourceforge CVS (as I believe there are a few differences between the CVS and (...)   Re: Development status

(...) From what I can tell, support for h8300-hitachi-hms(/coff) was dropped from binutils after 2.16.1. I have no real idea how much work it would take to port brickOS (plus brickemu, preferably) over to elf, but I suspect that it'd be a lot. (...)
