Re: lego-robotics / question for the experienced...

(...) You can also check out "Gordons Brick Programmer". Search for that exact text string on Google and I think you get to the download site. It gives you access to most of the RCX firmware functions without having to learn a procedural language (...) (22 years ago, 14-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: lego-robotics / question for the experienced...

I'd have to agree with Tim. I first started using the Lego software. Through it I learned the basics of programming. I then moved to NQC after I started getting into situations where the Lego software was too restricting for me. There's a couple (...) (22 years ago, 14-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I think quite a few people bought it for that reason. (...) Hmmm - hard call. NQC is "real" computer programming - the language you are using is "Not Quite" the language that a vast percentage of modern software is written in. If you master (...)   lego-robotics / question for the experienced...

hi all. first post here. i'm sure this doesn't happen often, but my reason for buying the ris 2.0 system is because a friend told me it'd be a fun intro to computer programming. as i eagerly await shipment of my kit, i'd like to pick your brains for (...)   Setup sensor type using LegOS Commands Reference 1.0-0.2.4

Dear all, Can you please tell me how I can select a sensor type using the LegOS Commands Reference 1.0-0.2.4? Regards Alkis (22 years ago, 13-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Has anyone hacked a spybot for more ports?

Has anyone hacked a Spybot for more sensor ports? It seems to me that the six LED's could become 3 duel direction motor ports. (Would require a 9v power pack of course) I'm also sure that the touch sensor could be converted to a regular touch sensor (...) (22 years ago, 13-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

(...) It's a 16K hard-coded driver. It manages the permanent features of the RCX.   Re: which would you choose?

Well, it depends on what you're using the stuff for... I myself, having an RIS 1.0 set, wouldn't settle for anything GREATER than 1.0, because of the power jack. The power jack is essential to me. And, about the pneumatics, Ever thought about LEGO (...) (22 years ago, 13-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Program download time

So I've got BricxCC compiling and downloading leJOS programs now. That's exciting (for me, at least). I'm using lejosrun.exe to download the .bin file to the brick.
