  RE: Another update for WIRRL

I just noticed at least one glaring error with the new schematic... Say, for argument, an RCX sends "1001", which, in IR, would be "0110". The IR detector of WIRRL would do nothing for the first bit ("0"), but the next bit ("1") should be sent over (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Thinner Diff (was: something i said?)

you could make that one stud thinner by placing it within a framework. now i have something else to work on... i did recently make on from a 24t gear but it rotates around one of the four holes off axis and is really only good for use in a sensor (...)   Re: something i said?

Finally i can give credit where credit is due. I remember seeing the pics but checking my directory i didn't find a the original names so i couldn't remember who you were. anyways, proper credit will be given in the next day. regards, m.   Another update for WIRRL

To those interested, I've made a new schematic (WIRRL Rev. 2a) using a better TX/RX pair (Linx LC Series) and I think I've found a possible better solution for handling flow of data. This new diagram eliminates three transistors and replaces the (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  MOC: Technic-scale tower crane

Although it was completed a while ago, recent posts [1] have prodded me into making an official announcement. Check out this seven-foot-tall tower crane: (URL) aim was to create a functional model that would fit in with the style of classic Technic (...)   Re: Detecting tilt with an Accelerometer.

(...) Yes, this would be a simpler solution. Using the difference and the sum of the two accelerometers as two inputs would likely make the driver logic very neat and clean. In addition, it could be useful to have two (much more sensitive) (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Anyone for Chess?

(...) Fantastic - Thanks for the link! Do you own one? The Phantom robot really moves quickly doensn't it - I suppose that's the advantage of dedicated engineering over Lego. After a quick web search (and lots of Andrew Lloyd Webber references) I (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Detecting tilt with an Accelerometer.

(...) Alex, I think that you would only require two accelerometers, one positioned low near the wheels, the other near the top. Both should be oriented to measure accelerations along the direction of travel. Using two accelerometers gives you a (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: new icon in RCX LCD readout

Mike, Rob Limbaugh emailed me with this suggestion and I thought it was likely as I was fiddling around with the datalog button in BricxCC right before I changed the batteries. I am not a Robolab user but in fact use NQC. I have just used the (...) (23 years ago, 21-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)
