  Notebook

I have a notebook mitsubishi, Amity CN wich has a USB port and an IR port. Does anybody know how can I use it to program RCX. Windows doesn't recognize the USB port and I don't know if installing the Lego software would. I could probably use the IR (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Even better, RIS 1.5, $99.99

There's one way for solving the problem with multiple IR communications at the same time. The method used for old computer networks is called a "token" wich is passed from PC to PC giving each one a chance to "speak". This could also be used for (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  USB tower

Hello - In the past I have burned out serial port towers, so I recently acquired the USB version of the IR tower. I did not realize that NQC makes use of the lego driver - it is looking like I have to purchase an entire RIS just to get Ghost. Is (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Check this out

A simple nslookup also reveals this is a lego site: i:\>nslookup www.spybotics.com *** Can't find server name for address 192.16 *** Default servers are not available Server: UnKnown Address: 192.168.1.1 Non-authoritative answer: Name: lego.com (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Check this out

Keep tuned in to a website I just came across. Looks like somethings going to happen in a couple of days (there is a countdown timer running)... www.spybotics.com If you don't think its Lego, just look at the source code. -Rob (23 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Terminal Emulator

Hi, I'm trying to find a Terminal Emulator that can access the IR Tower thru a USB port. So far, the ones I found can access only a serial port (COMx). Any suggestions? Thanks Mario (23 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  Re: taste of java

Your best bet for replacement firmware is leJOS ((URL) If you don't currently know Java you could try out my book, "Core Lego Mindstorms". It has a 30 page chapter that introduces Java programming concepts. - Brian (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

  taste of java

i'm looking into the posiblities of replacement firmware and was wondering how hard it would be to learn java and what would be the best way to acomplish this (23 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Re: Even better, RIS 1.5, $99.99

(...) You can program each RCX independantly. You need to turn one off or put it out the way of the IR tower while you are downloading the program to the other of course!) That much is pretty obvious - but where the fun comes is when you get the two (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Even better, RIS 1.5, $99.99

Take a look at my version of Mibo and play the GIF or AVI and you will see two RCXs operating 6 motors and 5 sensors communicating with each other with messages to synchronize the actions of the model. Two RCXs are twice the fun. -- Bob Fay THE SHOP (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)
