(...) We did talk about it for quite a while on this list - but I'm not sure that anything much came of it. I tried putting a laser and a light sensor right next to one-another high up in one corner of the room on an azimuth/elevation mount (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

For anyone interested... I picked up a few 3VDC laser pointer modules from RadioShack recently for less than $10.00 each. The module is RS#277-1101. Here is a link to a picture of it next to a 2x4 brick. (URL) is a link to the PDF file for the (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics)

And, you'll probably hate my reply... "Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should." The very idea of a discontinuous array of bits representing a network address in something as rudimentary as LNP makes my hair stand on end. The idea (...)
