Conrad, hands down, don't hesitate to get a "real" RIS set. Really. You will be disappointed with any other, and you won't be with the RIS. You should be able to find it on sale. I heard of them going for $130 at BestBuy near here, and this was the (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks for all the info online and off. He'll be getting the expansion sets only for now. We'll work on getting the RIS this spring. He's a smart kid - aren't all kids of AFOL's ;) so it sounds like he'll enjoy the sets just fine. Julie (...) (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)
