Hi all, I'm working on a dead reckoning 'bot. I'm not really interested in what the wheels are doing unless they're stalled. Anyone know any good tricks for monitoring the motor current, or should I go with shaft encoders anyway? Thanks! Paul (26 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) thanks matthew and arjen! that's exactly what i am going to do. what i did not realize at first is that 2400 baud actually *is* way too slow, as 2400 bits/s is only 240 bytes per second. a message has a length of around 10 bytes (depending on (...)
