Just returned from the Tewksbury WalMart where I found a few sets on sale.
Picked up a few Fright Forces at $3 and two Rain Dance Ridge sets for $4 [1].
I had only glanced at the latter, but figured it contained enough interesting
parts to be worth the money - weapons, green saddle, blue tiles, nice big grey
plate, falcon [2], etc, etc.
Anyway, I took some time and built one of the RDRs [3], and after building it
I have to wonder:
What the heck /IS/ it?
I mean, we seem to have a stream...OK...coming out of nowhere. There's a tree
stump and a totem pole, and then we have the hinged [4] and tiled 'snake chute',
the purpose of which I am still trying to divine [5].
Whatever its purpose, it needs work - the snakes keep getting hung up at that
first corner they have to turn to get into the stream.
As a model, I'd have to rate this about a 1 out of 5.
On the other hand, as a source of spare parts, its usefullness is significantly
higher, especially if you need/like primitive weapons [6]. There's the nice
grey plates too, a couple of grey and green bricks, some foliage, and the four
1x4 blue tiles.

1 - Probably not the best bargain prices, but worth it for me. Besides,
living in the Boston area I feel like I have to get these sets sometimes
before Todd & Suzanne snap them up for Auczilla. I'm convinced that's why
I could never find a clearanced Red Beard Runner when everyone else was
spotting them at TRUs...
2 - Of course, now that I have a few of these, I'll have to plan to put a mews [?]
in my megacastle when I finally get the pieces to build it.
3 - After I got home, of course, not on the roads. [??]
4 - Which of course was dual-color, like most of the hinces lately. I'm not
sure
why TLG keeps doing this but it can make things very difficult at times.
5 - My current theory is that Mr. Buffalo Head is trying to build an amusement park
for people's pet snakes, and the 'snake chute' is a sort of waterslide ride.
6 - The set has one of the highest weapon-to-minifig ratios I've seen lately.
Two
figs, two bows, two quivers, black spear, black hatchet, shield.
7 - Complete with a minifig Hodgesaaaargh, of course.
8 - Although with Boston drivers, I doubt anyone would notice.
