I did not buy the set, but a built something close to it by looking at the
pictures in the catalog. I started with the head and ran out of yellow 1xN
plates - so I but a clear yellow dome on top. Then I thought, I'll put a
couple of mini-figs up there to drive the big-fig - no ... the MEGA-FIG. I
like to call it "Mega-Fig the Destroyer", but its also known as "Junior".
I always wanted to build a mech! Like most of what I what I build, I have a
general idea as to what I want in a model, but the specifics are constantly
refined and altered during the building process. The way I attached the
eyes, with a technic half peg, gave me the idea to have fiber optic eyes
that flashed - the fiber optic strands fit real nice into the half pegs.
Well, next thing I knew I had micro motors in each arm spinning the hands,
pnuematic cylinders moving the arms, a compressor, and an RXC contolling the
whole thing. I have upload some images to BrickShelf -

Dan and Jen Boger have some pictures and a video they took at the Greenberg
train show in Upper Marborro, MD (September 2000) on their web site -

Here is a picture of one of the eyes lit up -

I had nowhere near enough green 1xN plates for the hat, so I made mine black.

| Bob, When I saw 'Junior' for the first time while perusing Brickshelf, I had a hearty laugh! The dome idea is hilarious! I wander what we'll see people doing to the maxi fig next? Perhaps somene is up to the task of turning it into a transformer of (...) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.reviews)

| (...) Bob, That's really good work - extremely close to the 'real' one I bought from just a catalogue image. Good use of Technic and pneumatic pieces to make it move - I want to do the same but alter the the legs somehow to make it walk. It's a big (...) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.reviews)
