The Roboriders are an updated version of the Throwbots without the useless disk
arm. The way they are set apart for the throwbots is their 'disks' are random,
and they are all on wheels. They also manage to introduce two new colors in the
process: lime and ice.

Frost: This was the first one I purchased, mostly due to the colorscheme. White,
Dark Grey, and Ice Blue go extremely well together. I hope this is the beginning
of the use of these 3 colors together for a space theme or new underground sets.
The 2 wheels and 2 ice blue spears stand out beautifully in this model. Many of
the technic parts are quite stylish as well. If you have a need of 2 7 stud-long
pieces of corrugated white tubing, this is the easy way to get it. This is also
a great kit for wannabe Mech builders, as it provides many of the essential
pieces to get started. The downside? With only 2 thin wheels and a poorly
designed strut, Frost tends to lay on it's side an awful lot.

Lava: Again, there are 3 colors: Red, Black, and Orange. Orange? it sounds
terrible, but due to the fact that the only orange pieces are the 3 random
wheels, it works. This set has a few advantages over it's 2-wheeled brethren.
First and foremost, it's 3 wheels ensure that it will alsaws be standing
correctly (except when launching the front wheel). The other advantage: 2 Black
Halberds. Yes, castle-folk, I said black. The large black strut (7x3x2) and it's
red counterpart beg to be experimented with in full Mindstorms fashion. The
downside? The orange wheels. All things considered, these 3 colors should never
be used together in any creation. The orange just throws off the balance. Yellow
or white  would have been FAR better choices.

Swamp: This color is tough to describe since I've never seen any reference to it
before. The closest name I can give it (in the great Lego green scheme) is lime.
Why they paired it with teal and black in a model, I'll never know. Swamp is by
far, the UGLIEST fo all the Roboriders. That being said, it's also the best
constructed of the three. The teal katañas alone are worth it for Rock Raiders
fans, but if that isn't enough, there are a couple of other teal bits in there
as well. Lastly, this is another 3-wheeled monstrosity, so it can stand quite
well on it's own. The downside? LIME! Without other sets to back up this color,
it doesn't stand a chance of being used outside this model. Anyone need a pair
of lime steering struts? ;-)

All in all, these are as good as and as bad as the Throwbots. A Roborider battle
arena seems like a natural addition, but TLG seemes to have missed that boat.

Will I pick up the other three Roboriders (Onyx, Power, and Dust)? Of course.
THey seem to be worth kits. I guarantee I'll be picking up 2 of each Roborider
in the long run and probably trade for the parts others don't want (the non-
throwbot heads for one). Hopefully, TLG will follow this up with soething just
as cool that is more than 50 pieces....nah. They wouldn't do that, would they?
(as I eye Blaster and Millenia....)
