Due to a rather involved set of circumstances that I won't go into now, I
find myself the owner of a brand new 6477 Firefighter's Lift Truck.

Ow.  Ow ow ow.  Putting this set together was almost painful.  It would have
been worse if I had paid $20 for it, but I didn't.  That and the fact that it
had a couple of items I needed were the only things that kept me going. Still,
I think a lot of pieces from this will wind up on my 'for trade' list ASAP...

Now, I'm not a Town guy, or a Fire Truck fan, but even I can see the problems
with City Town Center Jr. or whatever they're calling it.  Huge pieces greeted
my eyes when I opened the box - the undercarriage of the truck is all one
piece, as is the body/bed of the trailer.  The three parts (cab, trailer, and
lift) were in three separate bags with three different instruction sheets for
me to misplace.  This was my first exposure to Town Jr. and I was pretty
horrified.

The cab is of typical Town Jr. construction - you have to take the top off to
fit the firefighter inside.  He can't even wear his helmet while he's driving!
Fortunately, the set comes with a black hairpiece so he isn't bald.

The trailer hurts, because it's mostly one piece.  I'll be able to use the 2
4x6 black plates, at least...(yes, I'm reaching for something nice to say.)

The actual lift section is probably the most interesting to me.  With the 'legs'
down it's rather sturdy and the bucket can be placed anywhere within its range
without tipping over the truck. My biggest beef with it is that the support for
the lift - a 2x2 gray brick with a Star Wars 'click hinge' - will often come
detached fromt he rest of the truck when you're raising or lowering the bucket
arm.

My overall rating: Don't do this to yourself. Buy a Star Wars set instead.
