This piece is used on the newer pirate ships to attach the spars to the
masts, there the advantage is that the spars are now studs up, which means
pirates can stand on them (for this reason, I bought a bunch of these pieces
in one of the recent parts auctions so I can convert all my older pirate
ships to studs up spars). It is nice to see this piece in other colors,
because there will be times when it will be useful, even if this particular
use is trivial.
