 | | 6032 Catapult Crusher (Catapulta Esmagadora, Catapulta Trituradora, Catapulte Lance-Pierres)
 Theme: Castle/Knight's Kingdom
 Pieces: 54 (1 minifig)
 MSRP: US $6.99
 Rating (Model): 8.5/10
 Rating (Parts): 6/10

 THE GOOD
 * Good seige equipment for Castle!  It's been a while.
 * Nice minifig design.

 THE BAD
 * Not much, really.  I guess the catapult arm could be more generic.

 THE HUH?
 * Silver eye and a _sewed-on_ eyepatch? Weird.

 FIRST IMPRESSIONS

After my first encounter with 2000 Castle (6095 Royal Joust) I was
prepared for the entire line being about twice as expensive as I wanted
it to be.  Happily, that's not the case for the entire Knight's Kingdom.
The Catapult Crusher is a nice design at a nice price.

In fact, remember everything that was wrong about the 6027 Bat
Lord's catapult?  Like the fact that it looked goofy rather than
menacing?  The Catapult Crusher fixes the problems.  This thing looks
mean.  And unlike a lot of other recent LEGO seige weapons, this one
launches rocks that look like they have a chance of actually damaging
a castle, instead of the tiny 1x1 cylinders.

 BUILDING THE MODEL

There's one model in the set: the catapult itself. The arm is a new
piece with what I would guess to be the largest catapult bucket LEGO
has ever used on a seige engine.  Unfortunately, that's *all* it can be
used for.  Maybe a clever, enterprising person could make a steam-shovel
scoop out of two of them.

The catapult is solidly built and rests on four large, tough-looking
wooden wheels.  None of those spindly wagon wheels here...the Catapult
Crusher looks like a fairly major piece of machinery, even with it's
 squat appearance.

There's really not a lot to say about the set that isn't visible in
the catalog scans.  It's a solid set, quick to put together, nothing
really unusual in its construction except the brutally elegant design.

The set includes four grey 2x2 cylinders for ammunition, plus a wide
variety of weapons for the minifig - silver broadsword, fancy halberd,
spear, shield, and a barrel to store them in.

 AFTERMATH

Those of you who read my previous review of 6095 Royal Joust know
that instructions for the alternate models were included.  They're also
in the Guarded Treasury set, but not in this one.

Full-scale testing of the catapult will need to wait until my Castle
Catapult Trials sometime next year, but preliminary playing around sent
the 2x2 cylinder brick 3-4 feet.

This is an awesome set.  I love the design, in case you didn't get
that from my glowing comments earlier.  This set is everything that a
'bad guy' catapult should be: powerful and mean-looking.  Good work,
 LEGO!
