I just bought the new 2004 Mos Eisley Cantina today at a Toy R Us.  I must
say that it seems a little pricey at $30 when it only has 193 pieces, but it's a
cool new Star Wars set, so I just had to buy it.
First off I should say that this set DOES have the new off-colors.  The dark
gray has a bluish hue, the light gray is a tad lighter (but not as light of a
shade as the "very light gray" like in the mosaics), and the brown is a lighter
shade too.  The set itself, of course, looks fine, but using parts with an
existing collection could end up a little sloppy.  Other colors in the Cantina,
such as mauve, verdigris, tan, dusty blue and dark red, seem to be the same
shades as they always were in the past.
There has been mention of pieces that have bevelled studs in the new 2004
Star Wars mini sets.  I did not find any pieces like this in the Cantina--even
on the oddly colored pieces.
OK, the set comes with 5 minifigures, the coolest of which has to be Greedo.
He has a shaped head, which they did a very nice job on.  Greedo's head and
hands seem to be teal.  His legs and arms look like they're aqua.  His arms have
tan printing on them, which I believe makes him the 2nd minifig ever to come
with printed arms (the 1st being the new Boba Fett in the Cloud City set).
Han Solo looks just like the version that came in the Millennium Falcon,
except that he has dark blue legs instead of regular blue ones.  The Luke and
Obi-Wan figs are pretty much the same as the ones that came in the original
landspeeder set.  The stormtrooper has a new small cloth cape piece that goes
over his right shoulder and arm.
The dewback uses the same body, legs and tail as the elephants and large
dinosaurs.  His head is a new piece, of course.  One thing that makes the
dewback's tail look odd is that it doesn't have the middle tail section.  I
realize that the set designers had to make a shorter tail in order to make the
dew back accurate, but they connected the base and tip by putting a ½ Technic
pin between them.  This leaves an odd looking gap in the middle of the tail.
The landspeeder uses a decent amount of mauve and dark red.  The left engine
is also a different color than the other 2.  This makes the speeder look more
accurate to the movie.  I'm pretty sure that 4-raduis quarter circle plates &
1X6 tiles are new in mauve, and that 4X12 plates in dark red are new.
Tha Cantina section itself has hinges sections that swing out so that you
can get a better view of Han and Greedo.  It has 2 tan 4X4X6 quarter circle
panels.  Han's gun is really hiding under the table too.
Overall I like the set, love the minifigs, hate the new off-colors and wish
it were a little bit cheaper.

(...) Upon closer examination, it looks like Greedo's legs and arms are turquiose. (...) The stormptooper also has new colors printed on his helmet. The old troopers had all black printing. The new one has blue lines along the "jaw" part of the (...) (21 years ago, 2-Dec-03, to lugnet.reviews)
